After preparing this new rayon garment for dyeing by gently washing (scouring), then soaking in dye activator (soda ash), it was carefully designed and very tightly bound, creating each line and shape. It was then sprinkled with dye powders and covered with a deep layer of ice. As the ice slowly melted, the colors uniquely dispersed creating unpredictable but always beautiful watercolor effects. The garment was then extensively hand rinsed, soaked in special detergent, rinsed again; soaked in special fabric softener, followed by a final rinse resulting in a highly colorfast garment. This labor intensive but very exciting process results in very unique garments that are always “one of a kind”.

Care: Since rayon fabric is very soft but more fragile than heavier fabrics it should be hand washed by soaking in a little Dawn detergent or Woolite, or washed in a garment bag on delicate cycle in the washer. Always hang to dry. Iron on wool or cooler setting with a little spray starch to restore its finish.

This garment is “One size fits all” for those wearing small to x-large sizes. A larger caftan for plus sizes can be created.
