This series is inspired by the creations of the ancient Hopewell Culture which created and buried effigies of hands in their mound graves as a way to connect the spirit world with the living world.

Each copper hand is unique and selectively embellished, in this case with a local pebble accented with an brass and copper beads and decorative copper ring. This hand was forged, textured and finished with a rustic patina that is sealed for a stable finish. The copper ball is 30” long but can easily be shortened).
