This series is inspired by the creations of the ancient Hopewell Culture which created and buried effigies of hands in their mound graves as a way to connect the spirit world with the living world.

Each copper hand is unique and selectively embellished, in this case with a lapis gemstone bead and African glass bead charm, with a brass accent bead. This hand was forged, textured and finished with a rustic patina that is sealed for a stable finish. The copper chain is 30” long (can easily be shortened). The hand measures 1 1/2” tall and nearly 7/8” wide. This light weight necklace can compliment any outfit, from casual to dressy.
