This series is inspired by the creations of the ancient Hopewell Culture which created and buried effigies of hands in their mound graves as a way to connect the spirit world with the living world.

Each copper hand is unique and selectively embellished, in this case with an ancient crinoid fossil charm with tiny turquise gemstone bead suspended below a textured copper ring. This hand was forged, textured and finished with a rustic patina that is sealed for a stable finish. The copper link chain is 31” long. The hand measures 2 1/4” tall and 1 1/4” wide, 3 1/4” tall from the top of the ring to the bottom of the fingers. This light weight necklace can compliment any outfit, from casual to dressy.
